Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly thereafter. Corcoran is among ABC's original Shark Tank investors. Since her inception she has appeared on every season of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, the biggest being a $350,000 investment that was able to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 kids born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence, her mother was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing between jobs throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family sometimes relied on the free food delivery from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran remembers her father as one who occasionally consumed too much alcohol and did her mother a disservice and contempt, particularly when he'd been drinking. Corcoran was a troubled pupil throughout her schooling. Corcoran later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started the high school system in St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran who was in the process of failing many classes during her freshman year, moved to Leonia High School. There she received a grade of D.
